UPSC में Current Affairs वो हथियार है जो Prelims में pass कराता है और Mains में rank बनाता है — लेकिन सिर्फ सही तरीके से पढ़ने पर।
"मैं रोज़ अखबार पढ़ता हूँ — फिर भी Current Affairs के questions miss हो जाते हैं।" यह complaint हर दूसरे aspirant की है। समस्या अखबार नहीं है — समस्या है उसे पढ़ने का तरीका।
UPSC की तैयारी में Current Affairs एक ऐसा subject है जो कभी खत्म नहीं होता। हर दिन नई news, नई schemes, नई appointments — और aspirant सोचता रहता है कि "यह सब कैसे cover होगा?"
सच यह है — Current Affairs को रटने की नहीं, समझने और connect करने की ज़रूरत है। जो aspirant यह समझ लेता है, वो बाकियों से बहुत आगे निकल जाता है।

📌 1. UPSC में Current Affairs का असली Role
बहुत से aspirants Current Affairs को एक अलग subject की तरह पढ़ते हैं — जैसे History या Geography। यह सबसे बड़ी गलतफहमी है।
- Prelims में: Direct questions — scheme का नाम, किस देश से संबंध, किसकी appointment
- Mains में: GS answers को current examples से support करना
- Interview में: Recent events पर आपकी opinion और analysis
- Essay में: Contemporary examples से argument को strong बनाना
📰 2. कौन सा Newspaper पढ़ें?
यह UPSC preparation का सबसे debated सवाल है। हर coaching अपना newspaper recommend करती है। आइए data और logic से देखते हैं।
UPSC aspirants का सबसे popular choice। Editorial analysis, International Relations, और Policy coverage बेहतरीन है। Language थोड़ी advanced है।
The Hindu का strong alternative। Economy और domestic policy coverage बहुत अच्छी है। "Explained" section UPSC के लिए बेहद useful है।
Hindi medium aspirants के लिए बेहतरीन। राष्ट्रीय coverage अच्छी है। UPSC-specific depth थोड़ी कम है, लेकिन Hindi में comfortable aspirants के लिए सही है।
Simple Hindi, national और international coverage। UP और North India की local news के लिए अच्छा। UPSC के लिए दैनिक जागरण से थोड़ा कम effective।
अगर English comfortable है — The Hindu या Indian Express — दोनों में से एक चुनें, दोनों मत पढ़ें। अगर Hindi medium में हैं — दैनिक जागरण + Drishti IAS की Hindi magazine। एक newspaper रोज़ consistently पढ़ना — दो papers को कभी-कभी पढ़ने से बेहतर है।
📖 3. Newspaper पढ़ने का सही तरीका
बहुत से aspirants अखबार को news की तरह पढ़ते हैं — यह गलत है। UPSC aspirant को अखबार को एक researcher की तरह पढ़ना होता है।
पहले पूरे अखबार की headlines scan करें। इससे आपको पता चलेगा कि आज क्या important है और क्या आपके UPSC syllabus से related है। सब कुछ पढ़ने की ज़रूरत नहीं।
National page, International page, Editorial page, Economy page — यह 4 sections UPSC के लिए सबसे important हैं। Sports, Entertainment, Classifieds — mostly skip करें।
Editorial section UPSC preparation का core है। यहाँ experts किसी issue को analyze करते हैं — यही analysis Mains में answer writing में काम आती है। रोज़ कम से कम 2-3 editorials पूरे पढ़ें।
हर important news item के साथ सोचें — "यह UPSC के किस paper के किस topic से जुड़ा है?" जैसे — Inflation news = GS 3 Economy, Electoral Bond news = GS 2 Polity। यह habit आपको अखबार से maximum extract करने देती है।
हर important topic का 3-5 line का note बनाएं। Topic का नाम, क्या हुआ, क्यों important है, UPSC से connection। यह notes revision में बहुत काम आते हैं।
अखबार पढ़ते-पढ़ते 3 घंटे निकल जाते हैं — यह नहीं चलेगा। रोज़ 45-60 मिनट में newspaper complete करने की habit बनाएं। Important news को mark करें, बाकी skip करें।

📚 4. कौन सी Magazine पढ़ें?
Newspaper daily current affairs देता है — Magazine उसे consolidate और analyze करती है। दोनों की अलग-अलग भूमिका है।
सरकार की official magazine। हर महीने एक theme पर deep analysis। UPSC में government schemes और policies के लिए सबसे authentic source। Hindi और English दोनों में available। Free download होती है — PIB website से।
Rural development, agriculture, और socio-economic issues पर focused। GS 3 के लिए बहुत useful। Yojana की तरह यह भी government की free magazine है। UPSC में इसके references अक्सर काम आते हैं।
UPSC aspirants के लिए specifically designed। Monthly current affairs को syllabus के according organize करती है। Prelims और Mains दोनों के लिए useful। Hindi और English दोनों versions available।
Hindi medium aspirants के लिए best choice। Simple Hindi में current affairs की detailed coverage। Drishti IAS का monthly magazine और website दोनों बहुत useful हैं।

🔗 5. Current Affairs को Syllabus से कैसे जोड़ें?
यह वो skill है जो UPSC toppers को बाकियों से अलग करती है। हर current event को syllabus के किसी topic से जोड़कर पढ़ना — इससे आपकी preparation exponentially बेहतर हो जाती है।

📝 6. Current Affairs Notes कैसे बनाएं?
Current Affairs notes बनाना एक art है। बहुत ज़्यादा लिखने से time waste होता है, बहुत कम से revision में काम नहीं आता।
एक अलग notebook नहीं — बल्कि GS 1, GS 2, GS 3, GS 4, और Prelims के लिए अलग-अलग sections। जब भी कोई current event आए, उसे उस section में लिखें जिससे वो related है।
हर topic के लिए maximum 3-5 lines — Topic क्या है, क्यों important है, UPSC angle क्या है। लंबे paragraphs लिखने से time waste होता है और revision में भी problem होती है।
महीने के आखिर में — पूरे महीने के notes को एक बार review करें। जो topics बार-बार आए, उन्हें highlight करें। यह monthly compilation Prelims revision में बहुत काम आती है।
दोनों work करते हैं — लेकिन Handwritten notes retention ज़्यादा देते हैं। अगर digital prefer करते हैं तो OneNote, Notion, या simple Google Docs use करें। Important है consistency — जो method आप रोज़ follow कर सकें।

आज internet पर UPSC Current Affairs के लिए बेहतरीन free resources available हैं — Delhi जाने की ज़रूरत नहीं।
Government की official press releases। Schemes, policies, और government decisions के लिए सबसे authentic source। pib.gov.in
✓ FREEHindi में best UPSC current affairs coverage। Daily news analysis, monthly compilation videos — सब free। Hindi medium aspirants के लिए gold mine।

₹ Paid (Optional)❌ 8. 4 बड़ी गलतियाँ जो Aspirants करते हैं
हर news item, हर article, हर magazine — सब cover करने की कोशिश में aspirant overwhelmed हो जाता है। UPSC-relevant filter लगाएं — सब कुछ पढ़ना ज़रूरी नहीं।
Current Affairs एक separate subject नहीं है — यह आपके GS knowledge का current context है। जो aspirant इसे जोड़कर नहीं पढ़ता, वो exam में apply नहीं कर पाता।
रोज़ 2 घंटे अखबार पढ़ना और कोई note नहीं बनाना — यह time waste है। बिना notes के 3 हफ्ते में सब भूल जाएगा। छोटे ही सही, notes ज़रूर बनाएं।
Current Affairs notes बनाए, लेकिन revision नहीं किया — तो Prelims में वो याद नहीं आएगा। Monthly revision, और Prelims से 3 महीने पहले comprehensive revision ज़रूरी है।
