हर IAS topper ने NCERT पढ़ी है। लेकिन सिर्फ किताब उठाने से काम नहीं होता — सही तरीका चाहिए।
"NCERT is the Bible of UPSC preparation." — यह बात हर topper कहता है। लेकिन कौन सी NCERT? कब पढ़ें? कैसे पढ़ें? इन सवालों का जवाब कोई नहीं देता। आज हम देंगे।
UPSC की तैयारी में NCERT की भूमिका वही है जो एक मकान में नींव की होती है। जितनी मज़बूत नींव, उतना मज़बूत मकान। जिन students ने NCERT को ठीक से नहीं पढ़ा, वे आगे चलकर advanced books में भी struggle करते हैं।
लेकिन एक बड़ी गलतफहमी भी है — कि NCERT पढ़ लेने से UPSC निकल जाएगा। सच यह है कि NCERT base है, पूरी तैयारी नहीं। इसे समझना ज़रूरी है।

📌 1. NCERT क्यों ज़रूरी है?
बहुत से aspirants यह सोचकर NCERT skip कर देते हैं कि — "यह तो school की किताबें हैं, इनसे UPSC कैसे निकलेगा?" यह सबसे बड़ी भूल है।
NCERT की खासियत यह है कि इसकी भाषा simple है, concepts clear हैं, और हर fact verified है। जब आप advanced books पढ़ते हैं जैसे Laxmikanth या Bipin Chandra — तो वहाँ जो terms और concepts आते हैं, उनकी नींव NCERT में होती है।

🛠️ 3. NCERT पढ़ने का सही तरीका — Step by Step
सिर्फ किताब पढ़ लेना काफी नहीं है। NCERT को UPSC की नज़र से पढ़ना होता है। यह तरीका बाकी aspirants से आपको अलग करेगा।
पहली reading में कुछ भी underline या highlight मत करें। बस पूरा chapter एक flow में पढ़ें। इससे overall context समझ आती है और आप जानते हैं कि chapter किस बारे में है।
अब सोचें — "UPSC इस chapter से क्या पूछ सकता है?" जो भी fact, date, term, या concept UPSC-relevant लगे, उसे pencil से underline करें। हर fact के आगे मन में सोचें — यह किस paper में आएगा।
NCERT के chapter-end questions बहुत important हैं। इनमें से कई questions directly UPSC Prelims में आ चुके हैं। इन्हें solve करें और अपने answers check करें।
Chapter पूरा होते ही — किताब बंद करके एक A4 sheet पर वो सब लिखें जो याद है। फिर किताब खोलकर compare करें। जो miss हुआ, उसे add करें। यह technique retention 3x बढ़ाती है।
जब भी कोई current news पढ़ें — उसे NCERT के उस chapter से जोड़ें जो आपने पढ़ा। जैसे — "Cauvery water dispute" को Class 10 Geography के Water Resources chapter से जोड़ें।
NCERT एक बार पढ़ने से याद नहीं रहती। Revision ज़रूरी है। अपने notes के basis पर हर 15 दिन में quick revision करें। Full chapter दोबारा पढ़ने की ज़रूरत नहीं — सिर्फ notes देखें।
📅 4. Realistic Timeline — कितने महीने में पूरी करें?
यह सबसे common सवाल है। नीचे एक realistic और proven timeline दी गई है — जिसे आप अपनी pace के हिसाब से adjust कर सकते हैं।

Physical Geography पहले, फिर Human और Indian Geography। Science में Environment chapters priority पर।
Polity NCERT के बाद directly Laxmikanth पढ़ें। Economy में Class 11 "Indian Economic Development" सबसे important है।
Sociology पूरी पढ़ें — GS 1 के Social Issues के लिए बहुत काम आती है। फिर सभी NCERTs का quick revision।
📖 5. NCERT के बाद क्या पढ़ें? — Standard Books
NCERT पूरी होने के बाद हर subject के लिए एक standard reference book पढ़नी होती है। यह आपकी preparation को next level पर ले जाती है।

❌ 6. 5 बड़ी गलतियाँ जो Aspirants करते हैं
Class 1 से 12 तक की हर NCERT पढ़ना ज़रूरी नहीं। सिर्फ UPSC-relevant subjects और classes पढ़ें। समय बर्बाद मत करें।
NCERT को रटने की नहीं, समझने की ज़रूरत है। UPSC conceptual understanding देखता है, रटी हुई lines नहीं।
NCERT एक बार पढ़ी और बंद की — यह सबसे बड़ी गलती है। बिना revision के 3 हफ्ते में सब भूल जाएंगे।
NCERT पढ़ते वक्त notes नहीं बनाए तो हर बार full book दोबारा पढ़नी पड़ेगी। Short notes बनाना time investment नहीं, time saving है।
सिर्फ NCERT पढ़कर mock test देना demotivating होता है — क्योंकि UPSC में NCERT से आगे के questions भी आते हैं। पहले standard books complete करें।
📝 7. NCERT से Notes कैसे बनाएं?
UPSC में notes बनाना एक skill है। NCERT के notes ऐसे होने चाहिए कि Prelims से पहले सिर्फ notes पढ़कर revision हो जाए।
- Short — पूरे chapter के max 1 page notes
- Keyword-based — पूरे sentences नहीं, सिर्फ key terms और facts
- UPSC-focused — सिर्फ वो जो UPSC पूछ सकता है
- Current Affairs linked — जहाँ possible हो, news से connect करें
- Own language — किताब की language नहीं, अपने शब्दों में
